Doctoral Degree Colloquium Attendance Requirement

- Colloquium Attendance Instructions:
- Who is required to fill out this form: Every current student who joined the doctoral/PhD program in the Department of Computer Science at the George Washington University in Fall 2006 or after, and who will not graduate in Fall 2009, must attend a number of colloquium talks and fill out one entry per talk in this form.
- When and where to submit the form: Each student required to fill out this form must submit the form to the CS Department main office any time after s/he completes their colloquium attendance requirement but no later than the time s/he applies for graduation. This form is required for graduation.
- Minimum number of talks to be attended: Each student who is required to fill out this form must attend at least 3 colloquium talks if s/he will graduate in Spring or Summer of 2010, and at least 6 colloquium talks if s/he will graduate after Summer 2010.
- What talks count: All colloquium talks by outside speakers and by GW faculty speakers will count, as long as the talks are in computer science, in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or natural sciences. Other fields will count only if the talks have a significant computational component.
