Academics

Bachelor of Arts program

[Old Curriculum]

The BA program in computer science provides a broad-based liberal arts curriculum with a concentration in computer science. The program requires foundation courses in mathematics, science, programming methodology and skills, computer organization and design and implementation of algorithms, and provides additional breadth and/or depth in computer science and engineering through a selection of Computer Science electives. Compared with the CSAB-accredited BS program in Computer Science, the BA program requires fewer courses in mathematics, science, and computer science, while affording more opportunity for undergraduate studies outside the major, and for augmenting technical knowledge with business, communication, and management skills.

Curriculum Requirements
The B.A. Computer Science requires completion of 120 credits, with a distribution satisfying the following (in terms of minimum credits in each category):

(Note: The definition of Humanities and Social Science courses is the same as that used currently in SEAS. The business and management courses are any courses taken from the School of Business and Public Management in consultation with the advisor.)
