Dr. Florea's research interests are in applying computational techniques towards modeling and solving biological problems. In particular, her work revolves around designing methods and tools for sequence and genome analysis, identifying and characterizing alternative splicing and its regulation, comparative and evolutionary analyses of bacterial and viral genomes, and computational vaccine design.
